Thanks to a world in which technology is quite literally changing every moment of every single day, seven years of stagnancy renders an application nearly ancient.
When one client came to us with the task of moving his PHP-based eCommerce application to a .NET framework, not having touched his existing application for almost a decade, we knew we were up for a challenge.
Surviving online: the mobile dilemma.
The primary reason for the change of heart? Seven years later, the majority of our client’s customers were finding his company through mobile sources; he knew he needed to convert to a responsive, attractive interface if he was going to survive.
This is a problem that many companies are currently facing; the primacy of the mobile web surfer continues to grow. In fact, for certain industries (such as online media, banking) the mobile user is far and beyond the most common. Frequently on the go, clients and customers expect the ability to shop while grabbing coffee just as easily as if they were sitting at home on the couch. This changing culture, though, doesn’t need to be the death of any company.
In order to do this, we utilized “NopCommerce,” an open source eCommerce software that contains both a catalog frontend and an administration tool backend. We built an aesthetic, sharp, hi-resolution mobile eCommerce platform with custom categories, flexible text and color scheme options per page, built-in discount calculation, transferrable product data, sales/customer/inventory reporting, a full product inventory management system and email notification system.
Clients continue to request responsive applications in order to propel their online businesses to the new age. If you happen to be in need of such a service, we’re here to help.
