Using Articulate Storyline 2 to Enhance the Functionality of an LMS

  • Post published:May 18, 2016

A 3rd party software interaction was required for a Learning Management System (LMS). This LMS handles thousands of courses for their students. Interactive video courses were already created by client’s ex-developer using a software called Articulate Story Line 2.

Besides using Interactive Courses to teach students, the client wanted to control student activity for each course. For example where there was an option for students to input notes on a video, the client wanted to be able to track the time spent on each course.

The ex-developer had not handled this interactive information properly and so the client’s users were unable to record/save that information.

This was a unique request because few businesses take the initiative to learn Articulate Storyline 2 software unless they are implementing it themselves. At the time that they had implemented the software, there was no one available to entertain their request.

vteams started training one of their resources on Articulate Storyline 2 software. He researched and learnt all the particulars in due course. Soon he generated new courses with the software, updated existing courses to save requested information and brought the entire platform up to a new standard.

Within the course of his training and the client’s project, he mastered the following areas of Articulate Story Line 2:

  • Triggers
  • Adding Script on Triggers
  • Field controls in interactive videos
  • Saving and Retrieving Values for video courses from the database

The Client is happy with the work and vteams will continue with further development in the team.
